Headaches & Migraines

acupuncture-to-relieve-headaches

With Chinese Medicine, treating the appropriate points in relation to the location and nature of the headache is of the utmost importance in getting good results. For instance, if the pain is in the front we treat different points as opposed to a temple headache. In this way we are not concerned with the single mechanisms causing the headache like western medications are, instead we look at things bit more broadly.

We have to find out the organs involved and how that is affecting the channels — the channels being the energy pathways that traverse through the body. Once we find the channels and organs affected, we then insert needles into the lower limbs to draw the energy out of the area. This is often profoundly effective and can eliminate a headache in seconds.

If the headaches persist after a handful of acupuncture visits then I start thinking about food intolerances. Dairy and wheat (gluten) are two major players in triggering inflammatory processes which can cause chronic headaches and migraines.

The treatment of migraines is similar to treating a regular headache. I have repeatedly witnessed this Medicine stop chronic migraines. For someone who has suffered with this for 20+ years, the cessation of migraines is a life changer.
